Get Your Camera Ready
Are you looking for paradise views in Hawaii as a backdrop to your wedding, birthday celebration, or reunion? Or maybe you want a change of scenery.
Hawaii has clear blue Pacific Ocean waters surrounding it, making it beautiful like no other.
Stunning!
If you plan to visit any of the major islands there, get your camera ready to snap some photos. Any picture I post won’t do the beauty of this place justice!
I tried to take the best pictures to show you some things you might see when visiting.
The Hawaiian islands
Hawaii has six islands you can visit: Kaua’i, O’ahu, Maui, Moloka’i, Lana’i, and the island of Hawaii (or Big Island). I’ve been to four of these islands, and each one had something I enjoyed about it.
Now, you probably won’t visit the islands of Kaho’olawe (need special permission) or Ni’ihau (privately owned). That’s okay because the other six islands will keep you busy.
You can swim in clear blue waters, see waterfalls, and find marine life. If you like hiking, like I do, you will see the lush vegetation.
And maybe you’ll run into a wild hog or cats? Yes, I’ve run into both on hikes there…
From a distance, mountains and volcanos stand taller than the palm trees that dance in the wind.
Spectacular views… everywhere.
I always use my camera phone to take pictures, but nothing beats seeing it all in person.
Tourists like views in Hawaii
These islands boom with tourists. I don’t blame anyone for catching some tropical island feel without needing a passport.
That is—if you’re American…
Many people from around the world visit, too. Since Hawaii is a part of the US, you will need a passport if visiting from another country.
And here’s a heads up…
Before heading out to some beautiful views, check to see if you need to make a reservation. Not all attractions are walk-in, which is a bummer if you are spontaneous like me!
Diamond Head and Hanauma Bay Reserve require reservations. You’ll want to check out my blog posts on both of these places before you go.
Diamond Head Crater has beautiful coastline views, while Hanauma Bay Reserve has a beautiful beach view. Both are a treat for the eyes!
But you can still visit plenty of places without booking ahead of time…
Beauty everywhere
When I visited Haleakala National Park in Maui, I stood above the clouds at 10,023 feet elevation. Wow!
The only other time I’ve been above the clouds was in an airplane. I couldn’t believe the views!
Nu’uanu Pali Lookout has views of the coastline and mountains in O’ahu that will knock you out. You will have to find a ride there and pay for parking.
The wind gusts almost sweep me away, and watch your hat! Ha!
Imagine the Pacific breezes grace over you as you watch the waves crash against the rocks on the Waikiki shore.
On a warm sunny day in winter in Hawaii, you smile. Back home, snow, overcast skies, and cold weather await.
Maybe you spot a cave near the beach and go inside. The beauty of the rocks and quietness spark your curiosity. What’s in there?
But you don’t go too far in…
Or, you take a hike and come across a waterfall. What a sweet treat after a long trek through the forest.
Oh yeah…
This paradise is tropical and humid, so if you attract mosquitos like I do, you may want to bring bug spray. That way, you can enjoy the sites much better, minus the bug bites.
By the way, speaking of a tropical place to see… You can visit Ho’omaluhia Botanical Garden, and I wrote a blog post all about this paradise.
The sky is the limit
Now, the plane views in Hawaii are beautiful! You’ll see the clear, blue Pacific Ocean and think of taking a dip.
One time, I boarded a small jet from Honolulu to Maui. Although scary—I saw better views of the islands.
I really don’t get up early enough to catch sunrises, but the beaches have lovely sunsets. And guess what?
They happen every evening and are free… at least at Waikiki Beach!
Well…
They won’t be free if you’re at a luau or beach resort, but you get what I’m saying…
Beauty fills the Hawaiian Islands, and I’ve only given you a sneak peek. The price of the plane ticket is so worth it!
Let me know if you’ve caught some nice views in Hawaii and what you thought of them. Now, if only we could bring the van over there and do a road trip…
